Some great contemporary books for someone who rarely reads them?
Post Body

I recently got back into reading and realized that I rarely ever read contemporary books! I would like to start since I feel like I'm missing out on so much by having neglected contemporary writing.

For reference, I tend to enjoy reading the classics, sci-fi, psychological horror (love Shirley Jackson), and philosophy so I'd definitely appreciate books that delve into philosophical/scientific concepts or that serve as good character studies; but ultimately I'm open to expanding my book-reading tastes and reading anything that has depth and meaning.

Thanks!
