Is there a modern equivalent to The American Guide series from the 1930s?
Post Body

The American Guide series was a collection of 48 books/pamphlets published during the great depression under the Works Progress Administration that detailed histories and descriptions of every major city and town in their respective states (48 states at the time of publishing). It was also to bolster tourism to get the economy going at the time of the depression. I found out about them from reading about John Steinbeck and I searched around for something similar to those books published more reccently but couldn't find what I was looking for. Is there a modern equivalent of those books?
