One of my best friends has just told me that she’s having a miscarriage.
It’s been a painful 3-4 days so far both physically and emotionally. She isn’t the nurturing type, isn’t the type to fawn over other people’s kids and hadn’t wanted kids for most of her life (she’s 37), but her and her husband started to actually try about 1.5 years ago and then I think took a break and I suppose it finally worked. I’m giving this info as context for the book suggestion because an overly sentimental one won’t be received as well as a level-headed and rational one.
While she’s going to the doctor and they may advise her, I just want her to have the tools to understand that this is super common and that she’s not alone, but also how to move forward. My heart breaks for her and a situation where I can’t do anything other than send flowers / food, I want to help her cope in the way I know she does best. Thank you all in advance.
