I would like to read a book that will truly scare me. Someone recommended the Cabin at the End of the World, but I didn't think it was frightening at all. A book that really creeped me out was Level 26, but the second book was nowhere near as good.
I love dystopias and survival books, such as Cormac McCarthy's the Road, Koushun Takami's Battle Royale, and Stephen King's the Long Walk and the Running Man. I've read the Handmaid's Tale, but I didn't think it lived up to the hype.
I love discovering new worlds and am looking forward to your recommendations!
