Just finished the Cormoran Strike series, and now I feel empty inside. Got any more mysteries without poorly written women?
Post Body

I love mysteries and thrillers, but I need the women in the novel to be real humans. I actually prefer male protagonists, but if the book is full of one dimensional "dames," I just can't hang anymore.

I also like mysteries in a range of genres, including fantasy and sci-fi. Some things I read and loved:

  • Cormoran Strike Series
  • Harry Dresden Series (eyes are rolled every time he talks about how chivalrous a man he is tho)
  • Gone Girl (and Flynn's other books)
  • Anything by Peter Clines and John Scalzi (tangentially related)
  • Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series
  • Alan Gregory Series (Stephen White)
  • Tinker Tailor, Soldier Spy (little too slow, but not bad)

Things I finished but were disappointing:

  • Altered Carbon series
  • Jack Reacher (Lee Child)
  • The Girl on the Train
  • Behind Her Eyes
  • Maltese Falcon
  • The Big Sleep

So what do you think? Got any ideas for me? Thanks!
