What books have helped you through depression?

Post Body

I'm in the midst of a bipolar depressive episode. This one is bad. I woke up this morning, and couldn't get out of bed for three hours. I missed all of my classes, and I'm not feeling any better.

So, are there any books y'all have read that helped you while depressed? I wish I hadn't read East of Eden so recently. That one seems like it would fit perfectly. It was easy to read, and everything just felt so..."warm"? I don't really know how else to describe it.

It can be anything from a true classic to a guilty pleasure book, but preferably an easy read given my state. I'm just looking for something that can provide at least a little bit of a respite from this horrible state. I could really use something to lift my spirits.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
