I got an Audible membership quite awhile ago, but I don’t use it often, and I need to cut back on extra expenses. I have a couple credits left to use so I can finally cancel and not waste them.
I’m honestly not a huge audiobook fan, I genuinely prefer physical books for the majority of my reading. I mainly enjoy fiction, particularly weird or dark literature, which I absolutely cannot listen to on audio, because I retain more reading and writing and feel that I get distracted and miss a lot of nuance.
However, I do greatly enjoy nonfiction podcasts, which is why I wound up on Audible in the first place. Those I can listen to while I’m doing other things, at work or around the house, and not feel like I missed a significant detail. I also tend to enjoy re-listening to those.
So, I hope you guys can recommend a few, at least somewhat engaging, nonfiction audiobooks.
I absolutely love Bill Bryson and have probably listened to ‘A Short History of Nearly Everything’ three times now. ‘The Body’ was also amazing. I also recently downloaded ‘Genome’, ‘This is Your Mind on Plants’, and ‘Born a Crime’.
I appreciate any and all suggestions!!
