Novels in a non-American or European setting, from a non-American or European author
Post Body

Hey folks!

I work online and am lucky enough to travel full time. I've been doing this for years and one of my hobbies is to read books from/set in the places I am currently visiting! For me, that has mostly been Southeast/Central Asia, and parts of Latin America. I also try to read books from authors from those places (instead of say, a North American writing a book about Indonesia/Mexico/Russia).

Do you have any recommendations for books not in European/US settings? I particularly love fantasy and any well-written fiction. I also would love to hear about books that made you want to travel or visit a place.

For some context, I loved the novels "The Hurricane War", "The gift of rain", "Less", and "Gods of Jade and Shadow" off the top of my head.

Thanks in advance!
