I finished reading Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline, and absolutely loved it! I have never heard of orphan trains before and haven't stumbled upon many books written about them.
I'm looking for more books like this, that have an historical truth to them, but don't feature historical topics that someone may come across a lot. I'm also pretty new to historical fiction. I'm looking to expand my mind and learn something new.
As an example, surviving the Oregon Trail or pilgrims and the Native Americans.
