Epics: Brothers Karamazov, Moby Dick, Ulysses, Gravity’s Rainbow or Infinite Jest?
Post Body

If you had to choose only one. Or you may include your own favorite epic novel not among the five listed.

I got a few hundred pages into Karamazov until I set it aside for another time, which hasn’t occurred yet.

I’m gearing up for my first full Infinite Jest read, having tried it a long time ago but couldn’t get into it after 300 pages. I’ve since read The Pale King to much pleasure and find myself equipped to finish IJ this time no matter what.

The middle three of the list I have read each one twice. If I had to choose just one of those I’d probably go with Ulysses, but it’s difficult because I love them all.

I hope IJ rocks my socks off.

Epics are special.
