That's a bit of a vague title I know, so I'll try to elaborate a bit.
I'm looking for a fantasy series to dig into, with interesting characters, a compelling plot, and a satisfying ending (if the series has ended). Something with magic, and fights, and emotional beats or punches, that I can dig into.
I'm sort of looking for a series that will make me feel the way I felt reading about Kaladin in the Stormlight Archive's first book, or the way those books wrap up all the threads and have climatic endings.
Something that will make me feel the way, I suspect a lot of us felt, during the Ride of the Rohirrim in the LotR movies.
ASOIAF is good, but it feels too political for what I'm after. Something properly fantasy; politics is fine! It's intriguing when done well, but that series tends to feel like a political intrigue set in a fantasy world. Instead of a fantasy world with political intrigue.
