This morning I went to Panera with my friend that I have not seen in a while. She excused herself to use the restroom while I waited to pick up our orders. I was waiting when this older gentleman walked past me and stared me down. I thought nothing of it, picked up the orders, and grabbed some napkins before finding a table. I turned around and lo and behold, the man was standing there. He then says, “Has anyone told you that you look beautiful today?” I was so caught off guard and flustered so I just smiled and said, “Thank you!” He laughed, moved in closer, handed me a business card and then walks towards the exit and says, “It’s just a thought, I’m surprised no one has told you that before.”

My friend came back, we found a table, and I told her what just happened. The man came back in, looked around and saw me with my friend, and smiled. He stood there for a moment and got some napkins then left again.

My college is located in one of the wealthiest suburbs in the U.S. so I guess there is a higher chance of men being SDs. However, out of all the places, I did NOT expect to get approached in a Panera lol
