Private photos on SA - Standard VS Premium

Were there any recent changes on the mechanics? I was always able to see the private pictures of my SB even after my SA premium expired, but now it tells me I need to upgrade to be able to request them. Did SA change the rules or did my SB just snubbed me on SA? :)
