For context, we’ve been slowly chatting for a few days and finally arranged a lunch. I’m not into her too much, but considering.
My first reaction is cancel and move over, but I am still a little curious to meet and chat.
Her text: “Oh my goodness I just dropped my headphone into water and it’s broken. Can you please please stop and pick me up a new pair of wireless headphones? I have to be at a spin class right right after don’t have time to pick anything up and I really need headphones.”
UPDATE: I decided to go ahead since my afternoon was free anyway and went on the date. She arrived 10 minutes late. Her first words? “Damn, the parking here is soooo expensive. I wish I had that kind of money…”
Everything felt fake - completely focused on money and her needs, with constant hints about how she could really use some right now. It was so over-the-top that I actually found it fascinating and entertaining.
She didn’t even look as attractive as in her heavily photoshopped photos. Once I lost interest, I paid the bill and left, ignoring her final request for money in exchange for her time.
