I've recently sworn off SD/SB for a number of reasons, and now have a blast from the past. Earlier this year (June) a 5 year relationship ended. Why? Well, my side is that I retired from work, and my income has taken a hit, so the financial side had to end. We discussed it many times over several months, and I thought we might still remain friends (I know, wishful thinking). Further upon my retirement, I left town for the summer, which complicated things as well.

On her side, well, let's just say her life fell apart. I truly don't know all the details. Her landlord sold the house she was renting, and the new owner didn't want to rent it out, so she got in a housing bind. Some other things happened as well--that I don't know the whole story.

Anyway, this morning, I get a text from her (almost 6 months from our last meeting), asking if I want to get together, at a Diner, and have lunch and talk. I'm inclined to say yes, with absolutely zero expectations of what might happen. I'm clear that I'm not inclined to go back to a SB/SD situation with her.

I don't really know what her agenda is.
