Hey, I had a video call with a POT from Seeking, he was handsome, polite and transparent enough to reveal the reason for his wife passing away earlier this year.
He said she died of cervical cancer, and unfortunately, that caused me to apologize and tell him that from what I know, the healthcare industry has not advanced enough to detect HPV cancer strains in men (or any other) and I would have to say no.
I had to ask before that the super uncomfortable and intrusive question of whether his wife had HPV that caused the cancer, it being the number one reason for cervical cancer… I honestly wanted to die from embarrassment, but was very mindful about how I asked.
I know I was uneasy from the start because the call took me out of my comfort zone as I’m new doing this, but if something so important and posing risk directly at my health arises I cannot turn my head to the other side. I just told him this and said thank you, goodbye. But now I feel sad and jerky.
