Cancelling Gifts

Post Body

So recently I had someone who I thought was a serious potential… we had great chats and he eventually asked if I had a wishlist. I had just made one so sent it over and he purchased a good amount from it. Side note - I was so excited! 🥹 He was the first person to buy anything from it and it really just made my day. He sent me screenshots confirming the purchases.

So fast forward a few days and I go to add some more things (It was sparse because I just made one that isn’t family friendly 😉) and notice that half the gifts he had purchased were back on the list.

Is this a thing?! He claims he used the wrong card and asked me if I wanted him to repurchase but my spidey senses are tingling that I’ve been fooled. Paired with lots of excuses about his flights being delayed/cancelled after I changed my schedule to accommodate him for a M&G… but he swears he wants to show me he is serious about this. I already cut it off so that’s not the question here just including relevant info

I’m a tender soul and find things like this very disheartening. It’s not about the gifts, although I do love being spoiled, just the fact that people lie for no good reason. Im pretty cautious of most of the scams people try to use but wasn’t aware that cancelling Amazon orders was a thing.

Curious to hear if this has ever happened to you!
