After the steam greenlight thing, sub rosa got pretty popular, and I'd say the active played base about quadrupled in size, but I noticed this game hasn't been about making deals anymore. Sub rosa about 2 weeks ago was a lot more centered on making money or breaking out even, there was still shooting, but it wasn't as often and in every match, but after the influx of players from the steam thing, it seems like the game is now more about killing the entire team and throwing the objective to the wind. I think that's fine for most games, but from what I know when I played it (which was a reasonable amount), there was a lot more deal making than killing, and now there is absolutely no way to avoid a fight. While you could argue this adds a new layer of depth to the game, to me it turned the game into another generic FPS with cars and little to no tactical elements because everyone is in debt 2,000 dollars (in the end there're only a few people alive, most of them AFK) and those who are even can only afford to spawn everyone 9mms.
Now yeah I know the game is an FPS, and I know some team has to loose, but when it's a three way deal and people start shooting, or during a clean transaction and the other team decides to kill you all because they felt like it, the game feels more like just another generic FPS, and not something unique, like it was before.
EDIT: My solution- Anyone have a private server?
