Ketamine Infusion ?
Post Body

Hi All, I’ve been stuffed around by my Drs, which I’ve posted about on here.

When I went back, to review how things were with my pain specialist, Dr could obviously see my near emaciated face and body. How the replacement meds weren’t working. As they pain relief is going to be needed long term. He suggested a ketamine infusion. To help lower my tolerance to opiates and other drugs.

He does know I have prescribed anxiety meds to use occasionally. I do have other meds I use, not in excess but I am probably dependent on them. I have been tapering downwards, as I needed to and the dangers. Obviously while in hospital for a week, I won’t be able to bring in any extra, supplies which have been prescribed to me, but these are overseas medications.

Plus I’m guessing they will do a blood test while I’m there & check what I’ve been taking.

Has anyone had a ketamine infusion, for pain ? Do you think it will ease any benzo withdrawal I may have or cravings.

I’ve got 20 days, to be clear of Valium & Xanax. I told the Dr I had 24 strips then, so I may also need to be clear of S strips too. If my new authority does not get approved in time.. the old one I couldn’t use had to be, removed and a new one reinstated. 🙄

Pain specialist believes this will, lower my tolerance and assist with medical trauma. He thinks I’ll get about 3-6 months out of it. Then we can book a shorter one, for two days after the initial treatment..

I was like sure, I’ll give that a go… sounds awesome…

After the hell I’ve been feeling, for the last month.

Any advice please and thank you..

Plus thank you to the, members who helped me understand what was happening & why.. I didn’t do enough research, and naively took offered medication & listen properly, when I was advised of addiction, dependence etc. I stupidly thought I can miss a dose here, and there etc, or reduce the dose without tapering. Because I’m not addicted to this, big big mistake…
