Writing my feelings
Post Body

I don’t know if anyone is interested in reading writing like this. It’s something I feel expresses what it was like before I met Sir and the subsequent months, etc. We have been together for 9 years now and He still makes me feel like the most important thing in His world. Just felt like maybe someone else might get enjoyment from it. Sorry if this isn’t allowed, I checked but didn’t see anything regarding writing.

……

There once was a girl shrouded in darkness. She would reach within herself and cut out pieces. Give them happily to prolong her fantasy. Each cut unknowingly removing parts of her self. As each sliver left her they were replaced with shadows. The shadows were followed by darkness and her vision narrowed. She knew no path beyond that which she saw before her.

Long she existed in this darkness, rationing herself, keeping the world she imagined tight in her grip. But eventually her hands slackened, her dreams became vague memories and she didn’t know who she was anymore.

Her inner mind searched for relief from the emptiness, unaware to her. It would catch glimmers of light but shadows quickly covered them. It hunted for those flickers, drawing closer each time. It took so long and they were running out of time.

She was reaching an ending, drowning in the darkness. But the light grew brighter and more frequent. Each time thinning the shadows. The ebb and flow of the battle—she was still so unaware and weakened. But then arrived a cool breeze that brushed through her. Followed by a great rush that whipped around her stifled soul. It ripped away the shadows. Replacing it with the gentle and stilling caress of moonlight. Then she saw everything. She saw how careless she had been. Those slivers had turned into a chasm. So much damage done by just those small cuttings. But the moonlight was bright even within that rift. It shined all over her, enveloping her. It shined into the darkest parts of her. The moonlight shined with her, lending his strength. He began giving parts of himself, just as she had. It kept that darkness at bay for her. Each part he gave was held tight and healed her hurt. And in return she slowly shined back. Giving him back that which he had shared with her. Eventually trusting him with those brittle parts of herself. And brighter she shone until she was as stunning as he was. Together they shone side by side, aiding one another to keep the shadows at bay. Their souls sang to each other, caressing each other and tethering one to the other. He the moon and her the stars. And their sky was all she ever needed. The inexplicable togetherness was exactly what they had each been searching for. She once gripped that desire in her hands until it melted away. But now she clutched the reality of it. He never understood how much brighter his world could be. And so they shine still to this day—no matter the clouds, storms or shadows—refusing to let go of the world they always imagined or hoped for.
