Edit; so on the CV axel assembly it's just a torn boot. Is it smarter to reboot it or better to replace the whole thing??

Hey all, Have my Impreza in the shop for the some recall services and they also are saying the transmission gasket needs replacement (charge $337). I've done gasket replacement on other vehicles and am comfortable with doing that part myself. But filling up the transmission on my Impreza is new territory to me.

The front cv axel joint assembly (charge $587) is new territory as well but I'm confident in my ability as well as the mechanic friends I have.

What is your guys reccomends?
