When I first purchased a Subaru the brand was not very popular. I had done months of research while saving my money for a car.
I wanted top safety, reliability and value. I wanted to be somebody who make a good purchasing decision when it came to spending so much money. I bought a reasonable 2007 Impreza.
Now that Subarus are "cool" and gaining more recognition for the good traits the brand has had for years, more people are just buying them because their friend or parent has one. That is not a terrible reason to purchase a car.
It seems to me that the younger folks buying them are not doing it to make a smart purchase and they are making Subaru drivers(in my area) looks like dicks. They don't wave anymore, they modify them like civics used to be and they just seem to be folks who want to brag about what they drive.
Am I just being elitist with my automobile choice or am I the asshole here? Or is there some truth to this from what others have noticed?
TL;DR: I feel that Subaru owners are not as reasonable/intelligent as a group as they once were.
(This applies to the places I have lived. These places are not Subaru hot spots like Washington, Oregan, Quebec, Etc.)
