Very stormy last night and admittedly I was driving too fast as I was entering a neighborhood (30-35mph) I had just purchased new tires and was very impressed by the grip and I had the bright idea that I could slow down once I fully entered the neighborhood. Because visibility was low and I was being an idiot I didnβt see a speed bump until it was right in front of me and braked really hard and turned the wheel (I guess it was instinct)so I skidded with the wheels turned and did like a double bounce over it. No lights came on the dash and I was only like 15 min from my house, so I stopped gave a general look, all tires had full air but the one side was sagging. Checked it this morning and everything still looks fine, no scrapes or leaks underneath the car, but itβs sagging on just the one side (left rear). It looks like the coil/spring popped off the suspension thing (sorry I donβt know the technical terms). What needs to be replaced, the coil/spring, the suspension, both, something else, etc.? Any advice would be appreciated! This is a 2004 LL Bean btw (Last five photos are the other side for comparison)
Totally able to do it yourself. Just a quick strut replacement. Go down to the auto parts store and pick one up. They have ones that take less than an hour to put in if you are handy with a wrench. Then take it to an alignment shop just to be safe. Impressive though my friend.
Not ALL the time but in this case OP may get lucky. If I couldn't find one it's time to hit the wrecking yard ππ

And a quick strut comes preassembled in most cases. 4 nuts and bolts in and out (usually π)
With the state the spring is in there's no compression to be scared of anymore. And even if there were as long as OP doesn't remove the nut on the actual strut the spring would stay in place because of the top hat
