I just bought a 2021 Crosstrek with 18,500 miles. Well, I got to use my tire and wheel warranty after I hit a piece of road debris. I only paid to replace a front wheel bearing and do the alignment ($873, I mean, holy shit, that's high) at the dealership. So, seeing that huge price, I started asking about maintenance. Oil change is $69, but because we are in an extreme weather state. (Michigan) I have to follow a more intense maintenance schedule. I was told the 30k service would be $800 (break fluid replacement and some other stuff) and 60k (spark plugs and rear diff). I was also told, rear breaks at 30k and fronts at 50k. This seems really high. I never had to do plugs on my Honda's till 100k and never had a maintenance visit at a dealer cost more than $800. My Honda's breaks would often exceed 75k miles.
So is this for real or BS? Should I go to a local mechanic for this stuff, considering I have the Subaru extended warranty?
