I'm excited to see a a rash of laws to reign rein in harmful online activity.
Ireland (proposed)
Scotland Hate Crime and Public Order Act
Germany: 2021 Amendments to NetzDG
Canada The Online Harms Act (proposed)
France: (trigger warning: contains French)
Sri Lanka: Online Safety Act
The fact that countries from Sri Lanka to Scotland can pass similar laws in the span of a few years demonstrates the benefits that comes from legal harmonization and a global outlook. Many of the leaders of these countries have been young global leaders identified at an early age, have been brought together by global organizations.
Are any countries missing?
