[HMF] OU: Suicide Squad Slaking

Post Body

First of all, suicide squad hype.

Second, hear me out on this.

I was looking into Slaking strategies and I found something really interesting. He gets Retaliate, a 70 base power move that doubles power to 140 if an ally fainted last turn. Plus, unlike Giga Impact, Slaking is free to switch out the next turn. Slaking already has a base attack stat of 160, which if fully invested and Adamant becomes 460 attack. He's not slow either, with base 100 speed. Here's the Slaking set I'm using:

Slaking @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Truant
EVs: 28 HP / 252 Atk / 228 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Retaliate
- Pursuit
- Fire Punch/Hammer Arm - Earthquake

That's right, scarfed Slaking. I know, I know, it sounds stupid. But it hits like a TRUCK and no one expects it. 228 speed with scarf outspeeds base 150s like Mega Alakazam and Adamant scarfed Landorus-T. In addition to the stupidly hard-hitting Retaliate, Slaking has access to Pursuit, Fire Punch, Hammer Arm, Earthquake, Play Rough, Night Slash, and Shadow Claw.

I know what you're thinking. "/u/demonicsnail, this idea is completely stupid and could never work. Do you really want to build a team around a Slaking? What are you gonna do, make all your other team members die just so Slaking can get a boost?"

Yes.

Because it's great.

Here's the rest of the team.

Azelf @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
- Knock Off
- Explosion

Suicide lead Azelf. Taunts slower leads, sets up Rocks, Explodes. Knock Off hits ghosts and gets rid of obnoxious enemy items. Max speed, max attack, you get the idea. He goes down, Slaking comes out and deals out pain before switching into one of the following pokemon.

Talonflame @ Life Orb
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- Taunt
- Swords Dance

"But /u/demonicsnail, Talonflame should invest into HP, not speed! Plus, Life Orb is too much recoil, especially without Roost!" I know it should. But I'm only interested in doing as much damage as possible as quickly as possible before going down in a blaze of glory and bringing Slaking back out. Also, Tflame takes Fighting type moves aimed at Slaking really well.

Bisharp @ Black Glasses or Life Orb Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 52 SpD / 204 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Pursuit
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head
- Knock Off

Bisharp takes care of ghosts. That's about it. He's tanky enough not to get 1-shot by anything but Fighting moves and hit back hard before going down. I'd be down to switch him out for anything else that can take out ghosts without issues.

Landorus-Therian @ Assault Vest
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Knock Off
- Explosion

AV Lando-T takes special attacks without complaining and reduces physical damage with Intimidate, dishes out damage with EQ, Stone Edge, and Knock Off before Exploding in the opponent's face leaving the floor to Slaking again.

Latias @ Latiasite (because screw it, I can use a mega) Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Light Screen
- Healing Wish

Takes fighting moves like a champ. Hits back hard and drops her own spA with Draco Meteor. Light Screen patches up Slaking's poor spD if there's actual risk of him being hit, or if you want to help the rest of the team take special hits easier. Healing Wish brings Slaking back up to full health and removes any annoying status on him.

That's it. That's the idiotic suicide squad Slaking team. It's not (and probably never will be) as effective as lots of conventional teams, but it's incredibly fun to use and provides a totally unique playstyle. I'd appreciate any and all constructive feedback; is using mega-lati stupid? Do I need a Heal Bell somewhere? Are other suicide leads like Metagross more effective? What pokemon would you change, and why?

Am I just a complete idiot for trying to make this work?
