As the title implies, this would be a move SIMILAR to Knock Off (and Thief and Trick), but with the opposite function. It's also "up to Gen 9 standards" because power creep is crazy and this gen has some insane new additions.
Here's my idea. It's on text, because I can't draw at all.
Knock On Wood
Grass Type, 65 BP, Physical, 100% Accuracy
Effect:
Passes the user's held item onto the opponent, erasing their own. User is left with no held item.Super effective on Ghost and Dark types. Cannot pass on Choice items.
Explanation:
Based on the act of "knocking on wood" to ward off evil spirits, while also being a Knock ON instead of a Knock OFF.
Distribution:
Banette, Bombirdier, Meowscarada, Brambleghast, Hariyama, Iron Treads, Grafaiai, Gallade, Gardevoir, Cyclizar, Toedscruel, Arboliva, Tsareena, Amoonguss, Maushold, Rabsca, Scovillain, Slowbro, Blissey (I'm sorry), Dudunsparce, Gothitelle, Noivern, Oricorio, Houndstone, Oinkologne, Abomasnow, Altaria, Daschbun, Farigiraf, Florges, Ampharos, Jumpluff, Tropius, Zoroark, Brute Bonnet, Hypno
Ideal Pros:
- Would be REALLY useful for Pokémon with Acrobatics.
- Adds new utility options for mons like Altaria, Rabsca, Brambleghast and Jumpluff.
- Bullies Gholdengo, Skeledirge and Annihilape.
- Gives actual Physical Grass STAB to mons like Scovillain and Brute Bonnet.
- Alternative to Trick that deals damage.
Ideal Cons:
- Besides Acrobatics, there's not many reasons you'd want to have No Item.
- Not able to pass on Choice items unlike Trick.
- Contact move, so Garchomp/Ferrothorn would be laughing.
Unfortunate Con:
- Bullies Tyranitar and Palossand for no reason other than to be mean.
