A better sequence for studying math?
Post Body

So, I'm taking an Algebra crash-course in college. We had our first exam, and I bombed it. 75%. I understood the material, but a few problems gave me trouble. I memorized the problems, and when I looked at them after the test, I knew the right answer and knew I got them wrong on the test. Anyway, I have a crappy working memory, and I think I might be studying inefficiently. Here's how my sequence goes:

Go into the library 1-2 hours before class and do the previous day's practice problems

Go to the lecture and take notes

Go home and do that day's homework

Repeat the next day

Then, when we have a test I'll do the corresponding online quiz qnd review my notes. Does anybody have any advice on how I can improve? Maybe save all practice problems for before the test, or redo them? I'm an Engineering major and it's discouraging to do poorly on my first exam. I went to an alternative school from 7th to 12th grade and literally did zero math, so I feel like I'm behind the curve.
