New follower and poster. I have a massive loan (around $300k), I haven’t signed up to repay it yet. It is all from federal student aid. I don’t live in the US any more and I never will again. I plan to renounce my citizenship next year (if they don’t have some clause saying I can’t while I owe them money, which they probably do). Is there any point in me starting repayments over the next 20 years? I don’t understand what the penalties are for someone who is never going to live there again. I do pay tax to USA until I can renounce my citizenship. Any advice is helpful!!!
