I just watched the presidential debates and I'm just a complete mess. I was hoping this was the year that I would find hope, but it looks like it will be four years from now and I don't think I can last that long.
$140000, a lot more than I took out. It feels like a guillotine waiting to slam down and an anchor around my neck weighting me down. I don't nearly make enough to pay that down in a reasonable time frame. Blame me for taking on that debt. I'm the first in my family to go to college. I didn't have anyone to guide me, show me the pitfalls. It is my fault. But can I get a break ?
Trump doesn't care about student loans and Biden doesn't care about them if you are white, which I am. Am I supposed to just off myself ?
I have very little hope left.
I was given a Sallie Mae "student loan" while attending an unaccredited university and on academic probation. That was grabbed in my bankruptcy. My federal loans are still active but the government has never been able to hold a loan agency long enough for them to garnish.
You also need to make enough money to be garnished (over 40k a year)
I was garnished once when a worked in a steel mill w/government contracts. The declared bankruptcy and never heard from anyone again it's been 12 years.
Give your balls a tug and just don't pay em back. I haven't paid mine for 12 years no buddy has done more than garnish my tax returns. If they are not private loans you can unload them in bankruptcy. Also remember they can't drain a stone.

Short of life experience I do not. The idea is if you can't eat and pay rent they can't take your money. I'd also suggest not filling taxes if you make a lower wage do it's harder to be tracked down.
