Hi - I have been unexpectedly laid off from my work here in the United States and I currently have debts in 6 credit cards (almost 30k debt) and loans (40k) from three companies. I am still current as we speak but I have been having sleepless nights on what will happen once I move outside the US. Can a collection agency enforce collections outside the US? Will they be able to garnish my wages? Will I be jailed for debts? It is not that I wanted to not pay the debts but the salary in my home country is far lesser than what I earn here. I am seeking for advice on what to do with this. Thank you.
