So I stopped paying my private loans back in October. They were for a for profit school that is no longer open. I understand I still need to pay them but the interest was out of control at almost 16% on one. Anyway I have spoken to a lawyer and she is just waiting for them to default the loan. I’ve received letters that has a final deadline for the past few months. That deadline passes and same thing again. Anyway, today I received a pretty threatening voicemail. The woman said I need to talk to them immediately or the loan will no longer be with Navient which I’m assuming she’s saying they will sell to a debt collector. I know a lot of times with Navient this happens in house. Is this a threat to get me to speak to them? It seems like it to me. I do want to settle the loan and I’ve been waiting for offers in the Mail but have not received any yet. Just wanted to see if this woman is just bluffing out not.
