Hi all. I currently have a bachelor's degree in psychology and want to get a master's in student affairs. I have a decent job now as a grants management specialist, but I dont enjoy the work. My fiancé and I are looking to move in a couple of years. Student affairs has always interested me, but I know the pay isn't that great. We currently live somewhere with a low cost of living (hate it), but want to move to Raleigh which has a considerably higher cost of living. My dream is to be a social worker, but the programs are all expensive. Have any of you been able to use your student affairs positions at a university to help with costs of another degree? Is that dumb? The SA program I'm looking into currently costs about 15k which is significantly cheaper than an MSW program would be. It also doesn't take nearly as long. What would you do in my position?
