My wife and I are going to be taking a trip, flying, for the first time since I had my stroke last summer. I know I could probably put a call into my doctor(s), but since I’m at work and it just occurred to me, I thought I might ask you guys first: does flying pose any risk or complications in a person after a stroke? I know I’ve heard sitting for long periods can cause clots and all that, but I was just curious if pressure differentials or anything like that are something to worry about?
I’m assuming no since my stroke was the result of a neck injury, everything has more or less healed, and I’m on the necessary medications I need, but I figured better safe than sorry. Thanks in advance!
Edit/Update: thanks everyone, for the comments and info. My stroke was caused by an arterial dissection at the base of my skull so its not that I’m necessarily prone to strokes or anything like that, but I’m by no means an expert and it was just a question that popped into my head. From what I’ve been reading, it sounds like I should be okay as long as I take my aspirin (fingers crossed). Thanks again, everyone.
