Good evening all,
My mother 56 had a mini stroke on Sunday. Apparently one side of face got weak, right arm fingers got tight and hard to move, couldn’t speak. So she went to the ER and they did multiple tests. MRI and found minor lesions on brain, did CT scan with contrast to check for clogs, neurological test and so forth. They couldn’t find anything. She started to get better after a few days.
She was then prescribed aspirin and cholesterol pills. She is also on an antidepressant called busiprone which was doubled about a month before the stroke.
She then went on a trip to another state via car. She said she felt out of it the whole time until they crossed back over the mountains into Washington State from Idaho.
Then today she was shopping at Good Will and said she felt drunk almost. She sounded euphoric though. Kinda happy but very disoriented. She was then went back to the ER and they tested here for possible drug contamination. Still haven’t found anything. She is currently waiting for neurologist appointment.
Is it normal to feel happy and euphoric after a mini stroke? Or could this be a coincidence? Maybe new medication reaction?
What happens next if they can’t find anything wrong?
Thank you all!
