Wondering if this gets on anyone else's nerves as much as mine. So it's not something that's an issue everywhere I go luckily, but some clubs, and even whole cities sometimes, frustrate the hell out of me. When the bartenders and waitresses dress and act like strippers. Orlando, FL specifically is the worst in my experience. Their dress code is actually lingerie. They restricted what dancers can wear so we don't "look too much like the bartenders". So no victoria secret, no body suits, and no fishnet leggings. Do they not realize the issue is other way around? The customers can't tell us apart bc the waitresses will sit with customers for an excessive amount of time and even dance at tableside for tips. I've complained to managers when I can't even talk to a customer bc the waitresses will not go away even when asked. On a slow night, they'll just find ways to interrupt. Asking the customer to buy them and their friends drinks, or walking up and shaking ass in front of us while we're trying to work out details to getting a room. The managers are tired of me complaining but it bothers all the dancers. It's especially funny bc in Orlando, there's no touching laws & you need a license to dance. Some clubs the bartenders will dance on stage, or sit on laps. Things we're not even allowed to do out on the floor. I've stepped away from these clubs cause it's fucking ridiculous.
