I was talking to this customer yesterday and we were chilling for a couple of minutes he found out I was new been dancing for 7 months bc I told him and when he asked me about playing pool with him I said yes. Afterwards he gets a stack of 40 ones and I walk over to him while he’s setting the pool table up. politely to ask for a tip. He tips me and the bartender and he goes “ this lady just asked me to give her tip” and bartender acted shocked like it was a bad thing and he turns to me and goes “ customers don’t like it when girls ask for tips” and still tipped me even on stage. I figured at this point he was just saying that because I was new and wanted to give me a hard time. I most definitely had to ask bc they take advantage of new girls a lot and try to get away with not tipping. It’s infuriating though for this concept of “not asking for a tip” I would’ve gotten taken advantage of more often and made way less money. Then the dj was like agreeing with customer acting as if he’s the manager when he’s not (he’s one of those) but mind you the actual managers never once said that asking for tips wasn’t allowed (they don’t care and didnt) it pissed me off yesterday, it’s literally my job and what I was taught to do?????
