obviously a lot of male clientele coming into the strip club are coming in with a lot of gender bias and are sexualizing and objectifying to women. but in my opinion, I don’t think the strip club is a space of purely objectification. I think that the strip club is also a space for seeking connection and intimacy with someone, appreciating the nude body, appreciating sexual expression & sexuality, consensually discovering your sexual preferences, enjoying the art form of erotic dancing pole dancing, having a fun time, etc. strip clubs COULD also one day become places that don’t ONLY cater to cishet men as well. they could be places that are welcoming of all gender identities and sexualities. so that’s why in my opinion, strip clubs are not inherently degrading to women (to SWERFs and men who try to argue that point) strip clubs can be places where consenting adults on both sides come to sexually express themselves and appreciate the sexual expression of others. stripping is a form of entertainment no different than burlesque, drag, acting, etc…there is just a sexual aspect. as well as a performance and connection aspect. I think people try to degrade the value of stripping just because it’s sexual but there is nothing wrong with seeking sexual entertainment between consenting adults.
