How do you recover fast after a shift?
Post Body

Lately I've been feeling drained after a shift. Mentally and physically. I feel like I'm the only one who needs to recover after work, like I have no energy left. Maybe it's because I'm an introvert but I can't be the only one. Or maybe it's because I always want to give 110% and it's taking a toll on my body. I need at least one recovery day between shifts and I wonder how y'all who work like every day do it.

Let me be so real with you.

If my shift was that exhausting, when I get home at night, I shower and then put the stopper in the tub and throw Epsom salts in. Soaking my muscles immediately post shift helps so much even if I’m super tired.

Mentally I’ll do something I know is extremely relaxing the next day. Reading fanfiction, coloring, watching cartoons— anything to make my brain recharge.

Yoga helps, I know we all hate hearing it but it helps. 10 minutes makes the world of a difference.

Orgasms are great, too. The day after a really rough shift I’m likely going to get myself off for that rush you get from it.

EAT. Eat nutrients, you need them. Put it in a smoothie, buy nutritional shakes— but make sure you’re getting them in.

Heating pads ice packs for pain relief and relaxation. I’ll knock out with a heating pad, it helps so much.

Read the book BURNOUT by Emily Nagoski and follow exercises in a workbook. This book explains how to complete the stress cycle in your body. It explains why usual self care doesn't work.

Search online for The Stress cycle to get an idea.

Really get the book. It's life changing and helps me recover from stress quicker
