I am curious what you guys think. I am guessing the vast majority of streamers here are using Twitch, however, I hear that Twitch will soon be obsolete (don't know how true that is), and that the most popular platform for streamers will be Youtube.
It's hard to get discovered on a streaming site like Twitch because they only do streaming and nothing else. However, you can be discovered on Youtube because it does not solely rely on streaming. You can of course create shorter form video content too.
So, if this is true, is there little point trying to start on Twitch when I could just start directly on Youtube streaming?
I hear a lot of the big streamers are coming over. Despite initially losing some audience and money, the move for them will be better in the long term.
However, I'm curious, even if this is true, is there still value in doing Twitch right now, perhaps while simultaneously doing Youtube (streaming/original videos)?
Or should we just completely forget Twitch?
Twitch for sure.
