I felt guided to do some work concerning that today. I did some exercises from The Seeing That Frees, along with some other online exercises I found...how do we know what is real, truly?
What I noticed is that when I perceived objects as empty, their nature began to change. I knew that they were still "there" but not in the way that I usually know "there" The instruction from my inner guidance was "everything is not there, but not in the way you think it is"
Perception changes the nature of an object, and at some points I felt a sense of weightlessness, like either what I was paying attention to was "floating" or I was.
I'm not certain I'm on the right track with this, so I decided to post. I have at times in my practice experienced out of this world things - reality flickering, feeling all objects as transient, my entire field of vision going dark etc.
I guess that I had a mental expectation that seeing into the ultimate nature of reality would be more "wow" like the moments of "seeing" dependent origination would become 24/7. (Of course I realize that that is a mental fabrication as well)
There is a kind of understanding of the "not real" quality of objects, but it's still not my direct experience beyond a few moments. From my understanding, really experienced meditators (Daniel Ingram?) can see even the formation of the mental and visual forms, by practicing noting/Vipassana to a high level...is this correct?
It's like when the fixed axis point of "self" or "perception" is dissolved, everything is just free...and just...is.
(that is what my last post was about in part, I think I just didn't word it right. also had really powerful energetic experience yesterday which is still working through me.)
