Gosh I miss them so much 😔 I’ve been playing some of the older games on my emulator & older systems and the towns are just so much more lively, and it adds so much more to do. I understand some fans disliked it and that’s why they were removed but 😩 I feel like a lot of us also loved them and miss them. I didn’t even buy the FoMT remake when it came out when I heard there weren’t rival marriages, it was a dealbreaker for me. I feel bad for all the forever alone bachelor and bachelorettes in newer games, especially the ones I woo on the side until I marry lol. The town seems so much more real when your character isn’t the only one whose life changes.

I’ve seen many suggestions and I think an extra candidate for the alone person to marry would work, or even just having them end up in a long-distance relationship they talk about, maybe leave once a week so it seems like they’re visiting, if they don’t want to make a new character… or having rival marriages optional as I’ve seen suggested… They could even create a couple characters that are already in a relationship who marry/have kids as time goes on who aren’t available for the player to marry, I know this would probably make people upset too but I’d take literally anything to just have some other couples who progress in the game 😩 just venting I guess😪
