One day I checked into a motel in Nevada - I was extremely exhausted after multiple late nights & early mornings of towing boats around the west coast.

When I entered the room I immediately fell asleep; jeans still on & all.

When I woke up I was disgusted by the sight of 4 roaches having a meeting in the middle of the floor.

They were not scared of light or me one bit; it was their home after all..

I can withstand a slightly dirty room but roaches... no thanks.

I can't get a good night's sleep when thinking about a family of bugs entering my mouth when I'm dozed off.

I went to the front desk to demand a refund - I had been for a total of 3 hours.

Upon being greeted by the front desk rep I explained that I wanted a refund because the room had lot of roaches in it & showed him a picture of the roach party that was going down in my room when I woke up.

He seemed annoyed but said he would inspect the room then issue a refund.

I followed him into the room & could see confusion in his eyes when he opened the door.

Him: “Where is the fridge?!”

Me: “There wasn’t one in here.”

I could see a faded square on the carpet where it looked like a fridge had sat for a long period of time but there was not a fridge in the room when I checked in.

He threatened to call the police & refused to give me a refund saying that I stole the fridge.

Him: “just give it back.”

After arguing while sitting in lobby & warning all guests who entered that the place was a dump(2 of 3 of them leaving to find a better place to stay without men arguing about a fridge & bugs.).

Our back & forth seemed to be going nowhere until I started calling the police myself while telling him to check his cameras so we can stop this madness. He told me to hang up & agreed to check the cameras.

Turns out his cameras showed his drug addict house keeper dragging out the mini fridge.

He apologized and issued my refund after an hour of unnecessary drama.

Just another day traveling the great highways of America.
