I've been smoking on and off for about 20 years. I was smoking a little over a pack a day. I've quit before on several different occasions and sometimes those hiatuses from smoking have lasted years.
I started back when I was dating my wife about 6 years ago. We got married and had a daughter. Of course the extra stress only served to increase my cigarette intake I made the decision to stop again abruptly at 11:00 pm on Sunday night and I told my wife the next day. I really hadn't discussed it with her before.
She continued to smoke the next day and then said she'd quit with me. I was really happy that we'd be doing it together, but she didn't make it too long before she bought a pack. She said she'd have to wait until school is over to quit. She's a teacher.
I'm worried that I might give in too, but I'm trying to stay strong. I'm using the gum and an e-cig when I get really close to breaking down, so that has helped. Anyway I'm just venting here and looking for a little support.
