I quit once about 10 years ago for a year, and thought I was completely free of it. Stupidly smoked again and here I am now, a 31-year smoker. I've tried a few times, with every aid under the sun, and I haven't been successful. I want to quit more than I ever have, even the time I was successful, but I need advice from those who have been more successful than myself.
To wit: Is it good to plan the quit date in advance, as I'm doing?
Any advice on psychological tricks to play on yourself to avoid the "I need a smoke BREAK" habit?
Nicotine replacement: Yea or nay?
I can't take Wellbutrin for cessation because I react badly to the drug, even though it did wonders for killing the craving it also made me have seizures.
Just any and all anecdotal advice would be appreciated, really. And cheerleading.
Thanks!
