TL;DR: Do I have to follow the 10-week schedule of nicotine patch steps religiously or can I speed-run it?
Hello! I only smoked for a little over a year - half a pack a day. Then I switched to vaping but started consuming a ton more nicotine (no idea how much but it was a lot). Since it was ruining my life I started the patches. I have been on the Step 1 patch for a little over two weeks now and have been doing amazing. Minimal cravings but I always overcome it. The recommended timeline for Step 1 is 6 weeks, but my question is can I move to Step 2 sooner, like after my third week? My body is 100% used to the current nicotine level but I canβt find anything online about the dangers of changing steps early. Thank you!
