EDIT- thanks u/yampertamper for the brilliant idea!
Someone on this sub mentioned that in a way, they missed the day after drinking- the slowing down, the laziness, the snacking, the canceling plans to just give your body and brain a break. So they planned a dry hangover day if I remember correctly. I loved the idea and had to try it.
I own a bakery, and thanksgiving is our single biggest sales day all year. I was working 12-14 hours days this week, and we KILLED IT Wednesday. We sold so many breads, rolls, pies, cookies, you name it. Biggest success since I opened the bakery. I was running on caffeine, very little sleep, and adrenaline the whole week.
Took yesterday off to travel 4 hours one way to see family, so as you can imagine that wasnโt super relaxing. Fun, but certainly not relaxing ๐
I scheduled myself off today (minus a trip to the grocery for the bakery, I am a small business owner after all lol) and Iโve been doing exactly the following: -slept in until 730 -drank coffee -ate egg rolls and dumplings -scrolled tiktok -watched two Harry Potter movies with my 4 year old -took a 2 hour nap -watched more Harry Potter -ate cosmic brownies and Doritos
And my evening will consist of more of that. I did not (and will not) -clean any part of the house -wash dishes -practice yoga -care about what Iโm eating today -change out of my pajamas -feel guilty about any of this
Hope yโall are giving yourself grace and space to do what makes you feel good.
I will not drink with yโall today ๐
