Day 2: to the sd crew that saved my life
Post Body

Attempt #5 at quitting. I posted yesterday that a few folks in the sd chat recommended I go to the ER. I was familIar with the withdrawals from attempts 1-4: the pins & needles, the dry heaving, etc.

The part that scared me this time was sitting up to have water and then uncontrollably shaking. “What am I having a seizure?” Go onto SD chat and a few kind folks said to go to the ER. Well, I had a seizure there. Thankfully it didn’t happen anywhere else.

I was at 10-15 units M-Thur and probably 25-35 units F-Sun. The weekend beers started at 530am, so when I decided to quit Monday night, well we all know how that ended.

It’s been a hell of a ride since then. I got discharged with some benzos. They seem to be helping. The hospital staff was amazing.

Thank you to this sub for the help. If you’re out there reading and considering stopping because of a problem, let my tale be a cautionary one. I was drinking 1-2 beers fri-sat as of 3 years ago. A year ago it was a six-pack per night. Then the benders started.
