I am one week sober. A week ago I was drinking again. After getting so many second chances. My girlfriend kicked me out and said she needed space. My ex-wife told me I should have supervised custody of my kids for a little while. I spent the last week working, crying, going to two meetings a day. My ex-girlfriend misses me now, but I still want to get better. That's the root of all these problems: ME.
Today I have an initial substance abuse evaluation with my probation officer to see what kind of treatment I need. I am going to be brutally honest about slipping up a week ago. I hope it doesn't land me back in jail, but I'm tired of lying. I want real change. This year has been better. Big chunks of sobriety. 100 days here, 70 there, 50 more, and 100 this last time. A year ago I drank 350/365 days probably. If you pray, pray that I get some help and get the longest sobriety I've had yet. Pray that it doesn't require jail and that I don't lose all the things I love.
