I have just passed the point in my recovery from which I realized I was an alcoholic roughly 10 months ago.
Post Body

My drinking progressively worsened from April of last year, but it took another two months to recognize I was a full-blown alcoholic, drinking a quart of vodka or more every day. So today marks the day that I knew I was in trouble, but continued drinking for another 5 months before deciding to seek help for my addiction. Lying, stealing and neglecting myself and my loved ones. The reason I'm posting this is for all the readers (like myself during that 5 month period) that know they, too, have a problem with alcohol but have not yet reached out for help. Things get better and they get better quickly with the right support. So I urge you to take a step back and think about how much you hate waking up every morning, feeling like shit but still reaching for that bottle and how much better your life will be without the burden of alcohol.

I will not drink with you today.
